Profile

¡ Born in Kobe Japan. August 13th, 1959. Blood type : B
¡ When I was a student, I encountered illustration as an occupation and in which I found my calling!
¡ In 1980, I started working at Hideo Okunofs Design Office in Osaka, where I assisted to paint sceneries and to create designs for Takarazuka Musical Revue brochures. As my monthly salary there was only 30,000 yen, I depended upon part time jobs for a living at that time.
¡ Then I became a graphic designer and I have been a freelance illustrator since 1987. (That was triggered by my meeting various people who had found pride, challenge and fulfillment in their jobs. Mr. Yasushi Yagi was one such person who was then a designer for Esprit, a clothing company based in San Francisco. At that time I was studying in the U.S., as one of my friends recommended me to do so.)
¡ Then I was involved in creating characters, figures and illustrations. Since 1992, when I moved my base to Tokyo from Kobe, my major job included doing illustrations for kids goods.
